Be careful! Here are 8 things that invalidate Wudhu that you must know

Ablution is an obligation for Muslims before carrying out worship such as prayer. Ablution is performed to cleanse oneself of all physical and spiritual impurities. However, there are several things that can invalidate ablution so you need to pay attention so that the worship performed can be accepted by Allah SWT. In this article we will discuss in full the things that can invalidate ablution.

1. Discharge of urine or feces from the body

Excretion of urine or feces from the body is one of the things that can invalidate ablution. This is included in the category of major hadats, where a person is required to perform ablution again after experiencing it. In this case, a Muslim must immediately clean himself and perform ablution again before carrying out worship.

2. Loss of Reason

Loss of reason or being in a state of unconsciousness can also invalidate one's ablution. This can occur as a result of falling asleep, passing out, or being drunk. When a person loses consciousness, his ablution is invalid and needs to be renewed after regaining consciousness.

3. Touch That Cancels Wudu

There are several touches that can invalidate ablution, among others:

  • Skin touching between husband and wife without clothes which leads to sexual desire.
  • Skin contact between two genitals.

When a touch occurs that can invalidate the ablution as above, a person is required to perform ablution again before carrying out the worship.

4. Discharge of blood from the body

The discharge of blood from the body can also invalidate a person's ablution. This especially applies to women who are menstruating or postpartum. Women who are in this condition are not allowed to perform prayers and are required to perform junub baths after completing their menstrual period or postpartum period.

5. Not wearing clothes

According to some scholars, not wearing clothes can invalidate one's ablution. This is because clothing can become a barrier between the water used during ablution and the skin which should be wetted by the ablution water. Therefore, you should always pay attention to the clothes you wear when performing ablution to ensure the cleanliness and purity of the worship being performed.

6. Touching the pubic area with hands accidentally

Touching one's genitals with one's hands can also invalidate one's ablution. This applies to both men and women. If this happens, then immediately perform ablution again before carrying out the worship so that the worship performed can be accepted by Allah SWT.

These are several things that can invalidate ablution that Muslims need to pay attention to when carrying out their worship. Hopefully, by knowing these things, Muslims can further improve the quality of worship they perform and get closer to Allah SWT.
